Google Maps drives slowly.

Apparently, driving from Provo to Goblin Valley down in Castle County is 197 miles. Google Maps guesstimates it takes four and a half hours to drive there. I calculated that out — who drives at 40.22 mph on the freeway? Weird.

I want to go to Goblin Valley. Have you seen the movie Galaxy Quest? Yeah, that’s the place. I haven’t been there in more than a decade, way back when I lived in Price, only 101 miles from Goblin Valley.

A trip to Goblin Valley would be entirely feasible now in the spring. It’s not too hot; not crowded at all [how many people have heard of it? Not many.] It’s in the middle of nowhere, but it’s such a cool place!

Here’s how I fathom the situation to be:
Friday:
4:00 PM I get off work. We leave.
7:00 PM~ Arrival. Set up tent in a free location down Wild Horse Rd. Chill, eat dinner, play games. Sleep.

Saturday:
8:00 AM Arise, eat breakfast, clean up, pack up tents
9:00 AM Enter Goblin Valley [$7 entrance fee], take pictures, explore [you can do this for hours]
12 or 1 PM Play Capture the Flag or Laser Tag [or both?] [How cool would that be?]
3 or 4 PM Start the drive back to Provo, eat lunch/dinner in Price or somewhere.

Boom. 24 hours. In, sleep, sights, games, out. How fun does this seem?
Who wants to come with me?
